This project research aims to present technical and economic results from the Project "Identification and Exploitation of Mineralization gold potential of Alluvial Gold Deposits in Chile", financed with funds from the Public Goods Competition for Competitiveness Innova Corfo, 14BPC4-28565 code. This website shows the results obtained throughout the investigation, which began in November 2014 and its closure was held in November 2016.

This project is implemented by the Department of Mining Engineering at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, who acts as a beneficiary. Also, participate as Associates Constituents the Undersecretary of Mining, Enami and Dictuc S.A., the last one acting only as a donor.

The public good to be developed in this project is a "Cadastre of Mineral mineralization gold potential Alluvial Gold Deposits in Chile," which is define as a public and available throughout different ways with no cost to stakeholders, with the aim of encouraging the development of industry exploration and exploitation of such placers.

The cadastre will identify mineralization gold potentials in the country, including its most important economic and technical features. Also, delivering an initial valuation of the business potential they represent.

Outputs, outcomes and development of the public good are: ​

 

1. List of the main mineralization gold potential in Chile.

 

2. List of Areas and Prospects of Alluvial Gold, organized by priority. Also, with a recommendation of scale of operation: Artisanal, Small or Medium Mining.

 

3. Valuation model about the exploitation of Alluvial Gold Prospect in Chile, and its application to potential prospects with potential mechanized exploitation, in a small and medium scale.

 

4. Reports of the major’s alluvial gold prospects in Chile. For each alluvial prospect, which will be prioritized by level of potential, additional information will be collected on site. With that information and its final valuation, a final report of prospectus will be generated with the aim of providing information useful for management (Brochure of each Prioritized Prospectus). 

 

5. A Closing Report presenting the development of the public mineralization gold potential, with relevant results and recommendations.
